So the other day. I see my phone slip off my tray table, I couldn't grab it . It hits the floor again. It's one of those composite plastic floors, which helps. Phone ok once again. Two years ago I dropped my older phone on the macadam when exiting my car. It fell less than 2 ft. Landed on it's corner and got cracks in it. It lasted another 2 years. I should've of got a new one at that time. I was attached to that note 9 phone. Should of cut my losses then. So my new phone I set it down on the table but the end was propped up by a med size scissor, so the phone wasn't sitting flat. Fifteen minutes later I watch it slip off the scissors and table. If I slowed it down, it would've gave me time to think it through. Living through the experience will hopefully make us smarter.
Now, that incident can be extrapolated out. On the roadway, move a little slower, it can help avoid difficulties for you. Driving the other day, I'm in right lane making a right in right turn only lane. A car to my left tried to come in my lane, were side by side, he beeps at me. We missed by inches as I jerk car to right. Now he is behind me when we have to merge into the highway. A solid line is there for a bit. You merge when the line becomes a dashed line. He crosses the solid line and then beeps me again. He does some weird lane changes before pulling in front of me. I let off the gas. I tell my wife look at that jerk but I don't let it get the better of me. Mr hurry up is stopped up ahead by a red light. I pass him making a right at the light. A future accident is in his future. Crossings, look 3 times before entering. I look for the speeders, hesitation is almost always preferable. I will wait at yield zone until the time is right. I stop 20 ft from car ahead of me at light, when I see guy stop at rear then I move up a little. . In parking lot, I try to park so my nose is facing out. I probably do this 50 percent of the time. When walking you have to look around as well. Once I was in a diner with my wife. I got a weird feeling, so I took her out quick and found another place to eat. I new my spider sense was right on. That sense hit hard. Listen and get out.
Slow it down in other areas as well. When in an arguement, watch your mouth. Think before talking, count to twenty five. Words & actions in this state are not good all around. Better to use your feet and leave. Try to be positive during your day. This builds a good protective space around you. It will be better than before but it is not full proof. Patience is hard, it has to be cultivated, through practice. You will be reminded through the many months to come.
