July Fourth

The birth of America. When colonies  would become states.  To me the real birth date occured on June 17th 1775. People call it the battle of Bunker Hill.  I call it the battle of Breeds Hill, since all the fighting centered around this high point. The militias made up of farmers and tradesmen were told to dig trenches on top of Bunker Hill. When they got there the men saw that there was a closer  hill that was facing  the city of Boston. The hill was not as high as Bunker Hill but a better commanding  view of the British  occupying  Boston. As they looked down to the river they saw Charlestown to their right at waters edge. This was the perfect spot. They disobeyed  orders and dug their trenches atop the hill, all night long of June 16 th. The free thinking colonists were in control, using strong initiative, they set the tone and course of  Saturday's  battle  with the British whose troops were called  (the regulars). So it wasn't the British are comming the British are comming, more like the regulars are coming. A little after 4 am a British warship notices the breast work atop Breeds Hill. And begins to shell it with cannon fire. Other warships would lob cannonballs atop the hill. It was quite ineffective.  The regulars would have to ferry troops to the Charlestown peninsula  from Boston proper.  The troops assembled  along the shore line and planned their assault on a high fortified position. Good luck with that!  I would not want to be a regular on this Saturday. Eventhough  Britian was the number 1 military power of the world. They looked down on the colonists  as country bumpkins,  flash the glint of a bayonet and watch them scatter like rabbits. Not today. Today would change everything. The world would tilt upside down. Down the rabbit hole they went.

From the top of the breast work a fence trailed down to the river at an acute angle. A lot of rebels set up behind the entire fence line. As the regulars prepared their assault  on the uphill breast work. The rebels were cautioned to hold their fire until they saw the whites of their eyes. The rebs did not have enough  musket balls. They had to wait for them to get close since the musket was not that accurate.  The regulars in their woolen red coats were quite the sight as they traipsed uphill in a single assault line.  Back on the fence line the rebs let go all at once. The red coats fell where they stood cut down like wheat. Gray smoke filtered up to the breast work. The still standing red coats beat a hasty retreat down the hill. Leaving behind their dead and and injured. Curses filled the field of battle. The redcoats reassembled  and repeated their attack the same way. This time Charlestown was burning. Smoke from the town was wafting across the hill. Bagpipes, fifes and drums  poured up to the breast work. The second charge was again met with a cicle of lead from the fence line with the same result. Down the hill  they ran. They prepared for the third wave up the hill. No sound military judgement here. Now, the rebs were very low on musket balls  and reduced to using stones and nails for projectiles.. The redcoats finally  reached the breast work. It was now hand to hand fighting.

Joseph Warren fell inside the breast work. The firebrand who was recently made a general. When he first arrived at Bunker Hill they asked him what were his orders.. he said I'm not a real general I'm a doctor. I just want to serve. So what do you want to do? Help the rebs atop Breeds Hill. So be it, he dug trenches with the men all night long. He had 4 kids and died at about 34 yrs of age. Probably not the best personal choice for him and his family. He lived for the cause and gave his life for it. A 1 in a million type of guy. The British knew who he was. One of the commissioned officers  went back to Breeds Hill the next day to take out his rage against this man by digging him up and making doubly sure he was dead.

The British could not believe what had befallen on them. So many casualties  and the officers suffered the same fate as their men. Never before had the number 1 military  in the world suffered such staggering losses in 1 day of fighting.

After this battle the British knew, they were in for it. George Wasington would shortly take command of the army. The British would soon leave Boston. More troops were called up from England, as well as mercenaries from Hessia (present day Germany). The British would hence forth in the future engagements with the rebs be way more cautious.  Which hurt their future war efforts. This battle also pushed the colonists  off the fence, now they had to choose what side to back. Many families were divided on this issue. Things became a mess very quickly.

This battle in my opinion helped the world in defeating pure evil in the form of Hitler. Without US intervention , Germany would have won. And what a truly horrible  place this world would have become. God Bless America, and may she continue to shine her light upon the world!

6/27/2020 The Covid Affect

This is the third major setback for the US. It seems that each time it gets a little more dire. Also another major event ongoing is global warming, which will affect ocean side properties, at the cost of billions of dollars. Black lives matter and me too movement are times of reckoning  for the US and other countries. These injustices have gone on too long until one day the chickens come home to roost. See evil call it out, it's the right thing to do. Child  molestation in the Catholic  church stayed hidden for so long but those sins could only be covered up for so long. Acts of evil as to the people who knew and justified it with their silence. PI call these events wakeup calls. Countries get them and individuals get them too. It's the individual ones that are the most important. If we can't get along with our family members what makes you think the world would be any different. The change starts with you. Better results can quickly happen in our lives by the desire to make things better in our minds and hearts. Listen to our health experts and take precautions,  it benefits us and our neighbors. It's not me first, be considerate to others and their welfare. If your sick stay home. If you don't know what to do ask spirit what the best course of action is. People coughing on others is despicable. These people must have not gotten much love during their formative years. So sad. But yes there is even help for these people. All they have to do is acknowledge their wrongs  and ask God for his grace. So simple isn't it.

You start by accepting what you would like to change, in your life. This has to do with you only. Think about your course in dealing with your problem and invite spirit int the equation as well. Do things you want to do without neglecting  your responsibilities. Don't let people pressure you into doing something, your'e not keen on. Be your own person. A woman I know was pressured into a decision, that she may regret. Family was involved. Another woman was going to her birthday celebration out of state, relatives were hosting it. Just before she left, she told me I don't think I should go. I said, well don't go. Spirit was giving her a nudge here. She didn't listen. She said oh they went to so much trouble. They love me. She was suppose to be back in 2 weeks. Get a call from her, they're taking her to doctors. Five days later she calls and tells me they are keeping her against her will. I try to do something but they have the law on their side. Stuck her in a nursing home, they did. But spirit did warn her. Spirit is your number one friend in life, rely on it. Develop that connection on an ongoing basis. It can help with every aspect of your life.

Covid times, spirit is needed more than ever. Ask spirit about what to do about anything. Listen for an answer, could come in a dream, or a book or tv show. Spirit can reach you through many avenues. Be persistent  in your quest. Do all you can do and spirit will fill in the blanks. Also use common sense, if someone is coughing  say in a store, move away immediately, even if you have to wait in a longer line. Weigh benefit versus  risk scenarios. We have to hold on to our heads and pray for a vaccine.  Getting upset does no good for you or others that you are with. When we are calm answers will flow more freely. Being tense tends to clamp up our hands and when they are in a fist shape it makes it hard to grasp new ideas that may come our way. When feeling anxious  take a deep breath and hold for 10 seconds, then gently blow the air out slowly count to 10 and then say God is with me at all times. Do that 10 times. And then repeat again the exercise, for a total of 3 exercises.  Hopefully a little calming effect has entered your being. Where ever I goest you spirit go forth with me.  BLESSINGS. OR MAY GOD BLESS US ALL AS TINY TIM ONCE SAID.

6/14/2020 All That Glitters

GOLD.... drives people nuts. 1849 the gold rush was on, out in California. You needed a small amount of tools and a little bit of education and alot of spare time to go hunt for it.  A ton of them came out with not much to show for their hard sweat labors.  1One good thing that came of it was the blue jean. The miners complained that their pants were wearing out too quickly.  Levi and Strauss came to their rescue, creating the iconic jean. Levi and Steauss got their gold a different way, making jeans.  Fill the need and you get the gold. The people who supplied the gold miners in tools, animals,  boarding  and food are the ones who made  out good. The miners also paved the way for future Californians. Wagon trains and eventually the iron horse. When going after your dreams, you need to do some homework. Access benefit vs risks that are  involved.

When I was working in a foundry, I was making 5.50 an hr. Crap wages even for then. I was knocking lead from steel molds and stacking and bundling them up for the forklift trucks. I was going to quit after the first week because I couldn't keep up the pace. I told my friend the big Pourto Rican, he said you stick it out, you'll get the hang of it. Hang in there. I listened to him. He was right, I did pick up the pace. Each day I got a bit stronger. After 3 weeks I was just as good as the others. I had a high school friend Jim. All through high school we would arm wrestle every now and then. Same result, he'd pin the back of my right hand right flush with the table. In 4  years it was like 216 straight losses. One day I'm at his house, he's married now. Were on the floor carpet on our stomachs in the living room, were facing each other. I raise my right hand, he accepts the challenge. In 3 minutes, I'm the victor my first ever win! I raise my left hand this time, challenge accepted, 2 min later, I win again.  I get up and he rolls on to his back, I say you look like a beached whale. He cried to his wife, he beat me. The worm had turned. A lot to be said for pounding and lifting lead. I was now the strongest I have ever been.

Back to the foundry. The Boss was in front of me, he asked me to take the job in the lab. Ok I said. He said good. I said for money though. He said nothing, the he goes you son of a bitch. I had him by the short hairs. A quarter raise he says. I say try 50 cents. Silence......then he says done. Word travels  fast in that joint. All the guys would get raises but only for a quarter. After that day I was Mr 50 cent to the crew. That was way before another guy took the 50 cent name. I was the original. Now I'm in the lab. One of my jobs is to refine gold from old computer boards which were made of plastic, a light green color , 5x 7 inches across and thin. Heavy metals were stamped on them. Copper antimony silver and gold. We were after the gold. There was a stainless steel crate 5ft by 3 ft and 2and half ft high. I put the plastic boards into.the crate, filled 3 quarters full and dropped it into a vat of nitric acid, so the metals would dissolve. Well.... that act had a rupercussion...... everyone get the hell out of the building Now!  Billows of red clouds of gas emanated from the cat, the bottoms of my pant legs looked like I was attacked by a hoard of vapid moths. My pants were overly shoes, now they were capris. The red cloud spilled into the main building gathering along the floor and rising 6 ft up. Took an hr for us to get back in. An extended break. I got kudos from the guys. Didn't lose my job either. Turns out you only fill the crate to a little less than a quarter full, makes for a slower reaction. I then took the liquid and would add different chemicals to it, to drop out the copper and other heavy metals. Then I would take an 8 pound ceramic funnel, it had a flat bottom then a funnel below it, the flat part had many uniform holes in it for the liquid to drip through. The funnel tested on a big clear bottle. I would put a paper filter dow into funnel covering those many holes and up along the inside of the funnel. Then I took diatomaceous  earth  and put it on top of the paper inside the funnel. The earth was in a can with lid and kept moist. If you were to inhale it in dust form you would die simple as that. I would then pour the liquid over the earth, giving me the most wonderfull  sight in the world. The 2 ft round funnel held gold flakes very small covered uniformly all over. The light bouncing off that gold constantly changed it danced. Look at it this way and that way. Boy that's gold fever allright!. The last stage I would burn away  the paper by putting it into a small oven, leaving behind 100 per cent gold. It was always fun getting the gold. I made people rich for 5.50 an hr.

.
A  2 million treasure chest was just found in New Mexico, by a guy from the eastern US. He solved the clue, it took 10 years. The clues were contained within a poem the originator constructed.

When the poem came out in 2010, I figured it was in New Mexico. But I didn't have the money to go look for it. In the course of 10 years, 5 guys died out in the Rocky Mountains. It was to become their last journey on this side of life. One of them was a pastor.

Everyone that set out to find the chest was looking for adventure and riches. They wanted more for their life.  I say you can do this without having to sacrifice life or limb. Working with spirit can give you just as much satisfaction,  if not more. Think on what it is that you want. Write it down in notepad and leave it on your desk for easy reference. Focus on it, every single day. Do 1 small step to make it happen.  The stronger the desire the quicker the result usually.

One story I heard, a kid knew what he wanted to do in his life. That was to be a doctor. He studied hard. Result, he got fantastic grades. As he got older he worried, it might not happen for him, because of a  lack of funding.  In his senior year, a neighbor knew of the kid's desire. He had him come over, and told him he would be honored to fund his medical  studies. The guy is now a very good doctor. Spirit watched him do the work and gave him that needed boost at the right time. The idea to be a doctor was the seed. He watered it by studying science. And spirit completed it with the funding. You plan, set goals and when you hit a road block, you call on spirit to blaze the way. Working with spirit will give you a great life. Don't let your days pass in drudgery. Be the change.

I met a gal who was a Christian. She was moving into an apartment, she had everything except a bed. She asked Jesus if he would get her a bed. She did not have a lot of money. A half hr later a guy down the hall was moving out, all his stuff was packed but he did not know what to do about the bed. Can I have it, please take it. One half hr, her move was completed.

One day my truck developed an electrical problem. They are hard to fix,  costing lots of money. I needed that truck to do a job the following Monday. The mechanic was going on a vacation and was doing a half day that Friday. The secretary said next week. The owner of the shop was the only one who could do it. I thought I'm sunk as I hung up the phone.  I asked spirit for some help. Ten minutes later the phone rings, the secretary says he'll do it. As I hung up the phone I said I can't believe it, I can't believe it. Thankyou spirit. When I got the truck back it worked great.

When you work with spirit, you work with real gold. Something of great great value. It's there waiting on you to use it, grow your potential, start today.

6/11/2020 Don't Be Lonely

Being lonely can lead to depression, which can lead to death. It can also lead to body sicknesses, both seen and unseen varieties.  When you feel down for whatever  reason, this is the time to be proactive. Address  the problem  pronto. Talk it out with a friend or do some volunteer work in the community. By giving a person can receive healing. It worked for my mother. I don't know if she was depressed or not.  But by giving  she exhibited more joy and well being. She volunteered 2 times a week at a soup kitchen. She looked forward to those 2 days. It made a big change in her for the better. Way to go mom! By redirecting your focus away from your problems, it gives you space to reset in a more positive way. Once your fledgling  bond to spirit grows stonger you will be able to lean on it. The more you use spirit in your life the better becomes your life. Try at least once a day to use spirit in your life. Make it a habit, until it becomes 2nd nature to you. It's the number 1 tool in your spiritual tool box. Don't leave home without it. Grow your life into a beautiful  multifaceted bright garden of delights. With a garden, you nurture it by adding  water and nutrients just like with your ideas. Next comes the weeding, removing and burning thoughts that can harm your budding masterpiece. This practice  is done every day to remain healthy and if a storm were to come and do great damage to your garden. Do not get upset for you have paved the way back, because the soil you worked hard to make more fertile is still there. Ready to bring forth new and better fruits. Or even new ideas that will soon take sprout. No matter how dark the cloud, Spirit is waiting to show you a new direction.

My friend was brooding for over a week one winter after she recently lost her husband. She was extremely  lonely.  She told spirit her woes. Spirit answered her in less than 5 min.  Ring Ring,  she picks up the phone. It's the neighbor down the street, can you come down to my house , we will have lunch and play board games the rest of the day. Her depression flew right out that window in 2 sec flat.  Good for her!. It didn't happen for over a week because spirit waited on her to make the big big Ask?  Spirit waits on you when your ready,    Ask away!!! Release  this untapped  well of creativity now. You have a vast assortment of tools in your spiritual tool box. Get familiar  with them become the spiritual warrior that you were meant to be. Master your life. The trip doesn't  start till  you take that first tentative step. And all the steps that fall after that become a tad bit easier.

6/09/2020 It. Ain't So Bad

Many times when Iv'e felt sorry for myself, I would think about other people who have it far worse than me. People who have suffered floods, tornadoes, hurricanes,  fires and accidents. That would recenter me and let me see how trivial my problem really was.  I would feel much better.

One day I was cutting someone's grass a long long time ago. When I finished I laid down on the grass for 15 minutes and stared at the blue sky and puffy white clouds go by.  I told myself to always come back to this day and remember. Many times in the future I did come back to that day. It did help. Always remember to take a little quite time for yourself throughout your weeks. It's a needed time to refresh your soul. It gives your life a little bit of spice. There's more to life than always being on the go, rushing here to there. I got to do this, I got to do that. Slow it down a little. Give yourself some slack. Over time you will see yourself less strained, more at peace with yourself and able to laugh more. When you are tense, it's hard to grasp something new that comes your way. Also, being in a tense mode may prevent you seeing something good that comes your way. And many times something has to be removed from you, so that something new can take its place. Thing or a person.

The story that precipitated this blog, I read today online.  March 8 2020 some guy in Jakarta got himself into a smelly inconvenience. The guy ran a septic cleaning business from his house.  After his rounds he returned home, there he removed a metal door to the truck's tank setting off an explosion. Crap rained down upon his neighbors covering cars, homes and yards. Where there once was green was now stained brown. The neighbors were all poooped out after cleaning all day. In life we don't know what's coming around the corner. We make the best of it And hope there is no poop truck ahead in our future.

6/08/2020. Don't Quit

Yesterday Debra and I went for our half hr walk.  Blue skies and 76 degrees. Fabulous.  Twenty minutes after we got back, she said she lost her bracelet that she just made. She uses needles to thread the sea beads into a tight flat band. She incorporated an indian girl into the bracelet. The indian girl was also made of sea beads which are very small. We looked around the house and no luck.  I said get in the car, were going back, she said you don't have to. I said if you don't try there is zero chance of finding it. On our way back to the walk site, I asked spirit for it's assistance. I parked where I did last time and we looked around, nothing. I would rewalk the walk and she would drive behind me, most of our walking was in the street.  This walk I picked up the pace. Sometimes during the walk I got a little nervous with her getting a little too close to me with the car. Three quarters into the walk still no bracelet. I turned the corner and walked the macadam sidewalk this time. I passed near a house that had it's sprinkler system working, the sidewalk was now wet. It was a large property. As I'm nearing the end of the property, there it is one wet bracelet. Pick it up turn to my gal whose in the car, show the missing band to her. She's freaking out, I never thought you would find it!. That there is one happy gal. It was good for me too, I got out of the dog house.  She said did you see that 8 yr old boy standing near you,  I said no. She said he was right there as you were getting in the passenger side door. He had his hands on his hips with an expression like what are you doing here? I didn't see a thing. My focus was not there. Even though he was 3 ft from me. I thought later, boy I just got there in time to pickup the bracelet or he might have gotten it. Thanks spirit.    Once again........ don't quit!

6/07/2020. Thanks. from Me

Yesterday was D Day June 6th 1944. The day that started the eventual downfall of fascism  in Europe. During this invasion over 60000 allied troops gave their lives and sustained injuries in this noble pursuit of ridding the world of evil born in Hitler. This one man, made people forget that they themselves are responsible for their lot in life. It's so easy to blame others than to take responsibility for your own conduct.

I didn't see these events transpire. But benefitted from them nonetheless. I would not have been happy growing up in a world of fascists. So I say thanks to the greatest generation for all their sacrifices, for surely you made the world a far far better place!
